Qiantang Tidal Bore is a popular attraction celebrated for hundreds of years, and sees up to 170,000 tide-watchers annually. The tidal bore happens during the spring tide with every full moon and is the strongest during autumn – also when the tide-watching festival is held (on the 18th day of the 8th month based on the Chinese calendar). Tide-viewing sites include Qiantang River Bridge,along Zhijiang Road below the Six Harmonies Pagoda and the specially-designed viewing platform at Xiaoshan suburb. Timing: September
